New Schools Chief for Bridgewater-Raritan

On Tuesday evening, June 24, at its regular public session at the Wade Administration Building scheduled to begin at 8:00 P.M., the Bridgewater-Raritan Board of Education will appoint its next permanent superintendent of schools.

Board President Jeffrey Brookner will be making the announcement of the person’s appointment as part of his report to the board at the beginning of the evening.

The new schools chief will take over the helm of the Bridgewater-Raritan School District from Interim Superintendent of Schools, Cheryl Dyer, who has been manning this post on a temporary basis since the retirement of prior Superintendent Dr. Michael Schilder.

When reached this afternoon, and when presented with the name of the inbound superintendent, officials of the B-R Schools declined to confirm or to deny who the person is, and Board President Jeffrey Brookner had not returned a phone call as of this writing.

Although I have independently confirmed the new superintendent’s name, I’ve decided not to publicly disclose it out of privacy considerations, in the event that the other district has not yet received a verbal or formal resignation.  (This is possible, but unlikely.)

Nevertheless, key staff members and leaders of the Bridgewater-Raritan School District were already advised late last week as to the incoming superintendent’s identity in a private meeting of their own.
