Schilder to Assume School Post in Frenchtown, NJ

Dr. Schilder, 4th person from the right, on July 23, 2013.

Dr. J. Michael Schilder who retired August 1, 2013, as Superintendent for the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District will take on a new position as Interim Superintendent for the Frenchtown School District on a per diem pay basis, according to a report which appeared yesterday in the Hunterdon Democrat.  His daily rate of pay has not yet been disclosed, but is reported to be below cap.

Schilder is replacing Frenchtown’s Chief School Administrator Mr. Dave Bailey who is taking over as Superintendent of the Holland (NJ) Township Schools.

According to another report which appeared Wednesday in the LehighValleyLive.com web site, Dr. Schilder had also been one of two candidates for the post of Superintendent for the East Penn (PA) School District.

After Dr. Schilder’s departure from the Bridgewater-Raritan School District in August of 2013, the B-R Board of Education entered into an unsuccessful search for his replacement.

On Tuesday, this week, the BR-BOE discussed in closed session the potential launch of a second search for a permanent superintendent.

The results of that discussion and of what plans there may be for beginning that search have not yet been disclosed.  Meanwhile, Cheryl Dyer continues to fill the void as Interim Superintendent.
