According to a Headline on Yesterday’s Front Page Star-Ledger . . .

. . . “Christie’s GOP star dulled by aid vote.”

Apparently the editor either does not appreciate or overlooks the fact that, in the natural world, a star derives its bright light from its own internal source of energy – not extraneously.  So it is with Governor Christie.

In a TV interview aired on January 2, Governor Christie responds
to the failure of the U.S. House of Representives to vote for the
full amount of a bill which would have provided funds for
Hurricane Sandy related recovery efforts.  (Screenshot:/Bergeron Image)

The newspaper story hypothesizes that Governor Christie may have had his “star dulled,” as a result of the forceful manner by which he stood up to the U.S. House of Representatives – in particular, GOP Speaker John Boehner, who
procrastinated on a vote for the full $60.4 billion sought for disaster relief and recovery in the tri-state area.

A gaggle of ungrateful GOP congressmen from the Midwest also got their noses slightly out of alignment, citing – by their own definition – so-called ‘conservative’ principles:

In The Star-Ledger article, Jenna Portnoy writes that GOP representatives Steve King, Susan Brooks and Ann Wagner, from Iowa, Indiana and Missouri, respectively, voted against the full amount of proposed aid for this region.

So did GOP legislator, Representative Paul Ryan of Wisconsin.

Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) chimed in, criticizing Christie’s comments about the out-of-line NRA TV ad concerning President Obama’s children.
Back to the The Star-Ledger  byline:  Christie’s star is not dulled on account of his gratitude for Democrat Barack Obama’s visit to New Jersey during the heat of a Presidential campaign.

Neither will it fade because of egregious lack of support by Congressmen from the Midwest for whom Christie campaigned in their own states during in the 2012 mid-term elections.

Nor will it be affected by his pushing back on the nature of an NRA ad which never should have aired on TV.

If there is any ‘dulling’ to be observed, it is emanating from minds so clouded that they see nothing but fog between them and the light of Christie’s position on the aid vote and the NRA ad.
