Sunday: Last Day for the VNA Rummage Sale

Sunday afternoon is the last opportunity for you to benefit from enjoying the fall Rummage Sale sponsored by the Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills

It’s a semi-annual event which also takes place in the spring.  This affair always seems to take on a festive character, especially when the weather is as perfect as it has been Friday and Saturday, and as it will be on Sunday.

It wasn’t always like that.  There have been times when I’ve had to step deep into the muck during wet, chilly weather to get to some of my favorite tents – but, not today.  Priscille, I and our two grand-daughters, M&m, moved about a few of the tents and came out with some goodies – (me with a bag full of books: any surprise?).

Central Jersey is being blessed with some of the best weather of the year.  It’s even on a par with that of San Diego, but without the congestion – and that is not an exaggeration.

So why not think about taking advantage of an outing to the Fairgrounds in Far Hills.  The site is located on the corner of Peapack Road and Route 202 North, and there is ample parking.

Browse about the tents and pick out anything that strikes your fancy.  Times are tough, but your cash purchases will be put to one of the best uses that I can imagine – helping out the nursing profession to carry out its mission.

It won’t cost you much – the bargains are fabulous!

The nursing field is still dominated by women (God bless them all), and they are contributing big time to the stability of the health care industry.  What would we do without them?

It runs in the family:  My sister and two of my sisters-in-law were nurses.  All are now enjoying well-deserved retirements.  Not long ago, I lost another sister-in-law who was also a nurse

I don’t think that it is possible to exaggerate the vital role filled by the nursing profession, especially during these times, as we begin to experience all of the medical and political issues which are now swirling around the health care field.

So drop by on Sunday between 12:30 and 3:30PM and drop some of your well-earned cash into the VNA’s coffers, if you are able to and are so inclined.  The values are unbeatable.

Thanks for reading.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
